Before flood

·         Ignore rumors, stay calm , don’t panic

·         Keep your mobile phone for emergency connection; use sms

·         Listen to radio, watch TV , read newspaper for weather update  

·         Keep animal/cattle untied to insure their safety

·         Prepare an emergency kit with essential items for safety and survival

·         Keep first aid kit with extra medication for snakes bite and diarrhea ready

·         Keep your documents and valuable in water proof bag

During flood

·         Don’t enter flood water. In case you need to, were suitable footwear  

·         Stay away from electric pole and fallen power lines to avoid electrocution

·         Eat freshly cooked and dry food. Keep your food covered

·         Drink boiled/ chlorinated water

·         Use disinfectant to keep your surround clean

After flood

•  Don’t allow children to play in or near flood water   
•  Don’t use any damaged electrical good, get them check
•  Don’t eat food that has been in flood water
•  Use mosquito  nests to prevent malaria
